Rhana and I recieved our award from the Pacific Northwest BBQ Association for 2012 "Team Of The Year" for the second year in a row! We also won awards for "2012 Total Points Champion", Best Ribs and Best Pork.
We took top honors at the PNWBA's largest event of the year...The Tree Top "Skewered Apple" BBQ Championship in Selah, WA...and to top it off...my Grandsons Brenden and Bradley were there to share in the moment.
Rhana and I earned our 3rd Grand Championship of 2012 and first "perfect score" (200 points) in the Pork Shoulder category at the IPA Brewers Challenge & BBQ Championship in Portland, OR on Sunday August 19th, 2012...WOW!
This will be our first time competing in the American Royal Invitational and Open events in Kansas City, MO...we are so excited!
The American Royal Invitational Contest presented by KC Masterpiece is a true
national championship with more than 100 teams competing annually! Teams from
the United States, Canada and abroad, who have won a Grand Championship at a qualifying contest between August 1, 2011-July 31, 2012 will be invited to compete at the American Royal alongside the best of the best in the competitive
barbecue circuit.
With over 500 teams competing in four meat categories, The Oklahoma Joe's Open Contest is the largest barbecue contest in the world! Combine this with a barbecue-related trade expo, live music, fireworks, and a Kids' Korral of family-fun, this four-day food festival is truly the "World Series of Barbecue®".

We are very happy to announce our invitation to the World BBQ Championship November 1-4 in Las Vegas, NV We will be competing against 100 of the best BBQ competition teams in the world...
The World Barbecue Championship will bring the greatest competition barbecue teams, cooks and chefs together under one Vegas sky to settle the score and name the World Barbecue Champion. The World Barbecue Champion will go on to the Final Table and see if ‘America’s Cuisine’ will rule the world.
Choosing from all the major sanctioning bodies, The World Food Championships will select 90 premier barbecue competitions. The Grand Champion of those 90 events will receive automatic invitations to enter and compete at The World Food Championships, along with 5 champions selected by the WFC Competition Committee and 5 champions selected by Just A Pinch. What will start with 100 of the best championship pitmasters across all sanctioning bodies, will end up with just one winner.
